Root canal treatment is a procedure whereby your dentist cleans, shapes and fills the inside of your tooth.
Why do I need it?
Root canal treatment is often required if you’re suffering from toothache or have an infection within or surrounding a tooth.
Does it hurt?
In many cases root canal treatment can be performed, completely pain free, without anaesthetic. However your dentist will usually provide pain free numbing of the tooth as a precaution.
Why should I consider this option?
Root canal treatment is often the difference between retaining or losing a tooth and allows teeth which have darkened as a result of damage or decay to be whitened from the inside.
After root canal treatment the tooth is then restored with a standard or cosmetic filling, onlay or crown.
