Top Tips for Meticulous Oral Hygiene

  1. Brush your teeth at least twice per day with a toothpaste containing at least 1400 ppm (parts per million) Fluoride
  2. Brush with an electric toothbrush. They are proven to remove more plaque than manual
  3. After brushing spit out excess toothpaste but don’t rinse
  4. Brush last thing before sleeping and only have plain still water at your bedside
  5. Use interdental brushes between your teeth after brushing
  6. If the smallest interdental brushes do not fit between your teeth floss is still the boss!
  7. Smoking significantly increases your risk and severity of gum disease.  We’d love to help you to stop
  8. Mouthwash can be a useful addition to brushing, interdental cleaning but is no alternative. If you want to add mouthwash to your routine use it before brushing or after meals
  9. Your diet has a profound effect on your general health and cancer risk.  Are you eating your 5+ fruit and veg per day?
  10. High blood pressure? Diabetes? Your general health can put you at increased risk of gum disease.  General lifestyle changes can benefit your oral health
